Yes, Glam interesting isn’t it that the hours before midnight are supposed to be more beneficial- I’m not sure. Getting up around 8ish is quite early so I would class you as a lark πŸ™‚
Daisy yes I think that’s true. There is so much choice on telly now. I’m old enough to remember the t.v closing down and getting that high pitched whine when it had finally gone off!πŸ˜…

FQ - and the little dot on the screen as it closed down?

Who thought tv would change so much. I think our first TV had a 9" screen, only BBC, of course. "Interludes" between programmes, fuzzy pictures with 405 lines - how amazing 625 lines looked when we got those. I remember the first time our tv blew up - horrible smoke and fumes and a frightening bang! But it all closed down about 10 o'clock, and I'm sure that encouraged people to be larks!

Yes, that and the fact that it probably took us longer to get to work/school (3 mile walk for us country bumpkins), so we had to be up early.

Thinking back I have never been an early morning person.
When we were at the grammar school my friend and I always caught the last of several possible buses which would get us to school in time for registration. Many times over the years we missed it. We then had to go back to her house, and her mother (bless her) used to drive us to school, a couple of miles away. My mum was scandalised when I told her that my friend's mum always drove us in her shortie dressing gown and mule slippers!

Oh what a vision that creates Gem! I hope the mules were pink fluffy ones. I had a pair like that.
Lovely to revisit nice memories 🌺

I'm not sure they were pink, but they were fluffy FG
My mum has always been a no frills woman, so I had never seen such things before!

When you think about how far most children walked in those days, we must have had to go out quite early! It wasn't just country children who had to walk. The grammar school was just under 3 miles away, but wasn't on a bus route from where we lived. Mostly my dad gave me and a friend a lift, but we always walked home - at least it was downhill going home!

Gem - I had to smile at your friend's mum driving you to school wearing her dressing gown and fluffy slippers.

Daisy, the amazing thing was she never seemed annoyed with us! My mum didn't drive (and we didn't have a car anyway) our dads had gone to work, so it was always my friends mum who was asked.

She sounds a lovely lady, and I suppose there were a lot of women who didn't ever learn to drive in those days.

Definitely an owl! Take after my father in that respect. Not a morning person in any shape or form. I can get up early if I have to,but prefer to take my time! OH is a lark unfortunately!

Wee Granny, I always think if my OH was a lark I might get the occasional cup of tea in bed, and even, possibly on my birthday a slice of toast!!

Is it just the 4 of us - you, WG, Plant and me? Sorry if I've overlooked a fellow owl.
