As baby 1 was 6.6 and baby 2 was 7.7, people joked that baby 3 would weigh 8.8.
I don't want a baby that heavy was always my response!
Then she was 2 weeks late and weighed in at 9 pounds

My three babies had varying weights. D weighed 7lbs exactly-arrived three days early. M weighed 5lbs10z- arrived 8 days early. Then S weighed 8lbs5oz, also 8 days early.
Always face the sunshine and the shadows fall behind you.
I find it funny how nature makes us feel our baby is just right.
DD1 was induced a week early, as I had pre eclampsia. She weighed a tiny 6 pounds 6 ounces. One baby on the ward was 5.5. Too small in my eyes. The others were between 7 and nearly 10 pounds. All hulking giants to me, 6.6 was the perfect size
DD2 at 7.7 (3 days after due date) was an average size, so I don't remember comparing her to other babies.
DD3, induced at 42 weeks, weighed 9 pounds. She was perfect in her mother's eyes. How jealous those mothers of the weedy 7 pounders must have been
Stitches for all of them

Gem - I remember going on a tour of the hospital maternity department (Glamm - Clatterbridge!) as part of the ante-natal classes. About 10 pregnant mums in our group, all first-timers, peered in the the nursery where there were several rows of baby cots with neatly swaddled new-borns in them. Nine mums went "Awww, aren't they tiny!" One mum (me!) went "Eeeeek, not when you think where they've come from." It's always stuck in my mind how huge they looked!
But, I must admit my 8 ½ lb newborn looked bonny compared with the others on the ward.
