    Your First Date

Oma made a comment in Chat about possibly meeting her GS1's new girlfriend, and it set me wondering ....

tell us about your very first date. Can you remember his name and where you went? What did he look like?

My first date was with a boy I'd met at the youth club. His name was Roderick (yes, really!) and he was tall with fair, wavy hair. We went to the cinema to see "The 39 Steps" - the version with Kenneth More in. I remember he wouldn't let me pay for myself, but I managed to pay for our bus fares home.

My first real boyfriend was in the navy, I was 15 I think. I wrote to him when he was at sea. I am afraid he was upset when I told him I wanted to finish the relationship although I would still write to him.

Oh he was horrible and I have now forgotten his name!
2 friends and I met these lads in the park one Sunday and arranged to meet up with them another day. The one I was with kissed me and stuck his tongue into my mouth. Well! I had no idea people did such things, and it was as unsexy and unromantic as it could possibly have been ! I think I was about 13 and he 15. My friend told me later that I just left my hands by my sides.

I refused every boy who asked me to go out with him from that day until I went to college in London, aged 19. Then I had a few boyfriends to make up for lost time
