What to do on my 'day off' ?

As it is my sister's birthday Wednesday of next week mum and I will be going to see her. I will do my mum's shopping on that day as well. That gives me a very rare free Thursday. As Thursday afternoon is one of OH's golf afternoons, we can't do anything together.

Often on a free day I just while it away at home, very occasionally going to the cinema. I want to do something this time.
I am considering going to Whitby if it is fine . Alternatively I may go to the cinema if there is anything I want to see.
The world is my oyster LOL.

Have a look on your local Groupon offers and see if anything takes your fancy,pampering day/mini spa day/nails pedicure etc,things you would not usually do.
Or if you don't fancy that how about going to your local garden centre and choose the bedding plants to plant when the weather is warmer just make sure you don't waste the day. xxx

Fish and chips in Whitby sounds perfect to me. Have to be eaten outdoors in the fresh sea air.

I'd definitely say do something you don't usually do - visiting, say an art exhibition or museum or going to a village you don't know and just mooching round. Wherever you go there's bound to be a nice tea of coffee chop and probably fish and chips, too. I think planning it and looking forward to it is half the fun.

At the moment Whitby is on top pf my list.

Glamma I would love a Spa day and have been thinking about one funnily enough!
I would prefer to have company for that really though. DD's would be my best bet, but it would be far too short notice for them especially on a weekday. Some of my friends still work and the ones who don't aren't really into Spas.

Something I hope to do some time soon however.

A day to yourself is what you need , a nice stroll and Fish and chips sound just the ticket .

As next week is half term here I am rethinking Whitby. My friend went with her mum and dad last weekend and had terrible problems finding anywhere to park. I assumed I wouldn't have the same problem on a weekday, but was forgetting about half term.

Oh, Gem, what a shame. It sounds as though they need a Park & Ride scheme. Or could you park in the nearest place and get a bus in to Whitby itself?

Thinking back we had to park quite a way from the seafront. Might not be too bad at this time of year but perhaps worth checking with their tourist information office.
