How many grandchildren do you have?

I thought a thread to remind each other about our grandchildren may be a good idea, as we have Sunshine, our newest member and for the benefit of any other newbies coming along!

    I have 3 grandchildren. A girl of 9, and boys of 6 and 2 and a half.
The oldest and youngest are siblings, the other little boy is their cousin.

I am lucky in that they all live within 40 minutes drive of me, and I see them every week as I look after them all.

What a nice idea for a thread, Gem.

I have 4 grandchildren. Two boys, who are brothers, aged 15 and nearly 14. Two girls who are sisters (cousins to the boys) and they are 8 and 4 3/4, but very nearly 5, according to the young lady in question.

The girls live about 20 minutes away, and the boys just over an hour.

I see the girls two days a week after school, and the boys quite often, but irregularly. They often come to stay for a while in school holidays, but probably not so much as they get older and more independent.

I have three grandchildren. Our granddaughter is 23, trained as a chef and is at present travelling around Australia, she will be home just after Christmas and we can’t wait to see her. Her brother is 20, at present completing a Digital Marketing apprenticeship, a nice lad who loves sport, writing and is quite a clever young man. They are our DDs children and live 5 minutes away and I looked after them when they were little and DD went back to work. Happy times. Our other grandson is 11almost 12 but sadly lives in Australia. They have been there since he was 5 and we saw them last when he was 6. He is doing very well at school, plays the piano and has just started golf lessons, Very sad that we don’t see him, FaceTime is not the same.

I have my DD’s two. A young lady who is 16 and her brother who is 14. Sadly they live over 200 miles away so I’ve never had the pleasure of looking after them long term.

I have 2 grandaughters, aged 15 and 24. They are sisiters.
The youngest will be 16 in a couple of weeks.
Eldest lives with her partner, about 15 minutes drive away. They are getting married in March 2020.
I looked after both of them when they were little.
Don't see as much of the youngest now,she has little part time job,so when she isn't at school, she goes to work.

I have six GC, my daughter and sil have four children 2 boys and 2 girls. The eldest is nearly 30 and is married with a baby of 18months, they live 5 mins away, their other son is 26 a physio, he lives in London and works in a London hospital. The eldest girl 24 nearly 25 lives with her parents next door (we are very close) and the youngest girl finished her masters and is looking for a job, her boyfriend lives in London so she is home in the week and pops to London for the weekend. My son and dil have two boys, well young men now, one who is 18 is at Birmingham University and the youngest who is just 17 is at college. They live about 15mins away by car. I am very fortunate to have had my GC close by and see them quite often.

What a lovely idea for a topic as over the past few years quite a few of us have had new additions to our families haven't we.
I have 8 DGCs and 2 GGCS,boys aged 27/25/23/20 and 15 all the boys of my DD she also has a daughter aged 16.5 my eldest son has a daughter aged 20 from a previous relationship who we see on a regular basis and he also has my DGD with his wife she is 6mths old,my second DGS has my GGD & GGS aged 2yrs 8mths and 6mths respectfully the little man was born on his Grandpa's birthday this year so a special birthday for him.
We helped with the boys when they where small doing school runs etc and babysitting when DD was at work, she has always been a hard working mum after she was left on her own with them by her husband it has been a struggle for her but she has coped very well and the boys all have gone on to good secure jobs I am very proud of her.

What a lovely topic. I have 3 grandchildren. My son has a little boy, Lucas. He is seven and a half. My daughter has boy and a girl. Lewis will be nineteen later this month and Lydia will be seventeen on Christmas Eve. I get to see Lucas quite frequently, although irregularly. I see less of Lewis and Lydia as they are away at Uni and college. I always try so see them in the holidays.

It is lovely to read this topic
As Glamma says many more grandchildren have been born since we started here!
From next door to across the world, and everywhere in between, it is obvious that our grand(and great grand!)children bring us lots of joy.

And, of course our lovely grandchildren are the central reason we're all here, no matter what their ages are.

Thankyou qwerty. I feel very blessed to have a lovely family. It wasn’t planned particularly to name the grandchildren starting with the letter ‘L’ but we do refer to them as L3.
