Today I had a chat with OH and how to make life easier , we have decided to sell the 2 seater Ka I have hardly driven it this summer it’s been so hot I burnt my back sitting in a traffic jam, we have tended to go in the family car as it has air conditioning, less cost etc and OH is thinking of turning his garage into a workshop this could take some time but best we sell it whilst people can use it although it does come with a hard top too, it passed its mot today another good reason to sell 🚗

I don't think we could manage at the moment without both cars, but there will come a day when we have to.
Hopefully, your little KA won't take long to sell Qwerty especially in this weather. And hopefully J will enjoy setting up and using his workshop.....you'll probably only see him at mealtimes once he gets started!Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Qwerty - your Ka should sell really quickly, and I bet it's in immaculate condition. We couldn't do without 2 cars at the moment (well, we could if we had to but it would be highly inconvenient and I know who would be getting the train or staying home!) But if you can, it would save you a lot of money.
I wish you were closer - my OH would really enjoy showing J his workshop.

Like Daisy we couldn't manage with 1 car. My GC live over half an hour's drive away and I do school runs. I do lots of driving around for mum too, and to my monthly client. OH needs hers for all the golfing 😁
I think it is a good idea to sell yours Qwerty and I'm sure you will have no trouble selling it.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Glad you all agree , we should in theory live a more sedate life once the twins are at school and although I have pick ups we will arrange that OH doesn’t need the car that day, I do have to leave the car at DS and walk up to school as it’s a busy road and so many parking there, I couldn’t have got both children in the car as it’s a 2 seater ,so would need OHs , we don’t seem to go out much separately these days we just make sure the day we each need the car doesn’t clash 👍🏻 It will be a saving but we have had to put my private number plate on retention costing £80 to the DVLA my Dd gave me it when she got married and changed her surname so don’t want to part with it plus £25 to cancel the inurance cheeky mares

Qwerty - it sounds as though you've got it all organised, and when you add up all the costs of running a second car - depreciation, tax, insurance, fuel, servicing, repairs etc - if you do have occasional days when you both need to go somewhere it would still be much cheaper for one of you to have a taxi."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are.
