What is your happiest childhood memory? What makes it so special?

I had a happy childhood. It was a strange one as due to my handicapped sister we never went out as a family, and mum and I only went out when dad was home to stay with her. But still it was all I knew then, and it was happy/
One memory I do have is of Christmas morning waking up, and at the end of my bed sat the thing I desired more than anything in the world, and that FC had brought me!
A black doll, who I named Susan. She was so beautiful, smooth glossy black skin, delightful feeling tight black hair, and an exquisite dress with a delicate organza* apron over. I was in love I still have her but she needs her limbs restringing!
They say I wanted her badly, and they had to go to Leeds to find her, which as we had no car was very kind of them
*I think its called organza!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

My happiest childhood memories relate to dogs. When I was about 8 we adopted a bloodhound. I absolutely adored her, but sadly about 4 years later she died in a road accident. About a year later I was sitting on the hearth one cold wet night, reading, when my dad came into the room with a black bundle of wriggly fur. He held the bundle out to put into my arms - it was a Border Collie X puppy. Nobody could ever have been happier than it was in that moment. I enjoyed 15 years with him before the vet gently eased him into doggy heaven.
