I think I will have a little Amaretto before bed
I am more than 48 hours now after the antibiotics that make you very sick if mixed with alcohol before that time
I have never tried it but the warnings are dire!

Gem - I hope the Amaretto was ok and you had no ill-effects. I always thought the no-alcohol with antibiotics was because the alcohol interferes with the effectiveness of the antibiotics - I didn't realise it can have such dire effects.

Daisy I'm allergic to penicillin and that limits the choice of what they can prescribe. The one they give me for tooth problems make you very sick with alcohol and for 48 hours after.

It's ages since I've popped in for a nightcap. The evenings are drawing in and once it gets dark it's a bit chillier, so I'll have a a nice warming cognac, please, Bar person. Nothing to eat - I shall enjoy the cognac just as it is.
It was a good idea to get the fire going tonight and it's cosy and relaxing to sit and sip in those comfy chairs.
