It's still a bit early, but I'll be back later, so just deciding on what I'll choose.
Another Guinness
Red Wine
Scotch and American with plenty of ice
that reminds me - it's ages since I had a sherry with ice as a longish drink!
Cognac, as a nightcap
but I think I'll definitely be treating myself to a pork pie. I really fancy one."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Just in case anyone is tempted - a mojito recipe: (this is the recipe from La Bodeguita del Medio the famous Cuban bar in Havana.
60 ml (a double)White rum, 25-30 ml 1:1 sugar syrup (equal amounts of sugar and water) mint leaves (about 6 or 8) some crushed, 30ml fresh lime juice lots of ice, and about 60ml dash of soda. Garnish with a couple more mint leaves.
Stir all together in an up and down motion rather than round and round.
A strawberry mojito is great too. Use basil instead of mint, 3 0r 4 strawberries quartered. and crush lightly. Put a bit less sugar in the sugar syrup because the strawberries are sweet. Garnish with a couple of basil leaves and slices of strawberry.
Relax, preferably in a sunny spot and good company and enjoy!

A buffet is being prepared for this evening. It looks lovely, I've had a peek in the kitchen.
