After yesterday's family barbecue I'm all Pimms-ed out, so I'll just test Jean Luc's skills as making me a decaffeinated tea.

Well I will have a huge glass of champagne as I had a chat with my boss today, as although I had verbally and put in writing my intention to retire in October, she had not mentioned it at all. After doing some rota calculations I shall leave 9th October. I had informed her I would leave on my birthday18th or the last working shift before that date whichever fell first. I also reminded her she would need to have someone lined up/advertised for as I would need to train them in my role and also another Duty Manager would be going on holiday for 3 weeks the same time I leave. Just in case she tried to convince me to "hang on" another month. Luckily she has someone in mind who I highly approve of for my role, but legally the position has to be advertised. So on a rapid countdown now -cheers and here's to retirement."What doesn't kill us,makes us stronger."

LG - it will be a celebration and a half when your retirement day finally arrives. Definitely a party in here.
Jean Luc - I'd like a large glass of Merlot, please. I'm ready to put my feet up and relax tonight!

I will have a sneaky B&C while peace reigns. We have gorged on KFC, the 1st time ever for Brian and I. Can't say I would try it again personally. But the girls enjoyed it, now engrossed in Harry Potter "The chamber of Secrets".You do not have permission to view this gallery.
