I will have my breakfast out on the terrace please. Poached eggs on granary toast, orange juice and coffee please. A slice of cold melon to start would be good too.

There's nothing nicer than having breakfast out in the garden on a hot summer's day, so I've asked Mariella to set up as many tables as she can under the shade of the trees, and because we all deserve a treat, there will be a bowl of fresh strawberries and cream on the house, if you come and join us for breakfast.

GS2 has been active all morning, refused his nap and has finally gone for post lunch sleep! He is an adorable cherub, but hard work when there is no nap!
So, before I set off the collect his sister from school, I will treat myself to lunch here.
Chicken and avocado salad, with crusty bread please, and a sparkling elderflower drink.

I think I heard talk of birthday cake for Oma, but no sign of it, so I don't think it is finished yet.

It's looking a bit dull and showery today, so I've lit the fire to give a cheery glow, and put lovely bright cheerful cottage garden flowers on all the tables.
