Mariella has gone on holiday, home to France for a month. In her place we have Betsy. She won't be making us French pastries, but is a wonder with Victoria sponges, fruit loafs and all manner of traditional goodies

Sulking because Mariella isn't here to bake her fantastic croissants, but the poor girl needs a holiday.
Betsy - no offence, but I couldn't face your delicious goodies first thing in the morning, so I'll just have a pot of English Breakfast and sit in the garden enjoying the sunshine.
Gem - those tarts in the picture aren't ......... mincepies ........... are they.

Betsy has been busy
I have never seen such an array of cakes, all freshly baked. It's hard to choose, so I have opted for tiny slices of coffee and walnut, Victoria sponge, cherry and coconut, and a small scone with raspberry jam and butter!
A pot of Earl Grey will go down nicely with that, please.

At thie time of year, every chance I get to sit in the garden and enjoy the sunshine it to be treasured! I'd have been back for afternoon tea if it hadn't been for the GCs.
