I have done no packing at all for a long weekend away so a good breakfast will fortify me before I get on with it!
Berries and Greek yogurt please, Mariella, then scrambled eggs on granary toast and coffee.

Mariella usually has a day off on Bank Holiday Mondays, but she's opened up today for special cream teas, served all day.

It's a glorious sunny day so the tables outside all have their parasols up and ready.

I'm going to pop back this afternoon for sandwiches and her delicious home-made scones with butter and jam (no cream for me) but there is Cornish clotted cream for those who want it, plus a selection of delicious cakes and pastries.

Thank you so much for the fabulous birthday cake. It's a good job it's calorie-free. We've been saying elsewhere that birthdays should last a week, so I'm delighted the banner is still up and there's still yummy cake for everyone.

This morning I'll have muesli with yoghurt and blueberries, please, Mariella, with a coffee, and will be delighted to see anyone who can join me for afternoon tea with scones and clotted cream and a large slice of birthday cake.
