    Book Club Suggestions for 2018

    Please make any suggestions here.
We will start reading again in January.

I have pasted this from the previous thread -

    Clover -
A few weeks ago I finished a book lent to me by DD.
"The trouble with goats and sheep" by Joanna Cannon,a Sunday Times best seller and a Richard and Judy book club choice.
One of the reviews says"Part whodunnits, part coming of age, this is a gripping debut about the secrets behind every door"
I found it an easy read and enjoyed it.
It is available on Kindle if you are interested.

I’ve just read this, and really enjoyed it. I picked it up on the book table at Townswomens Guild, a lucky find.

My book club is currently reading The Boy with the Topknot. Much more to it than the recent tv drama and an interesting story.

I've read a couple of reviews on "the Trouble with Goats and Sheep" and it sounds a good read.

Shem - I often find teh book better than any drama or film, although I haven't read or seen The Boy with the Topknot. Are you enjoying it?

Had our book club meeting today and, for the first time, everyone had read the book. Possibly because much of it is set in Wolverhampton. It was interesting as it gave a lot of info about the Hindu religion and the problems facing both generations. The drama was very different to the book as per usual. Worth ordering from the library.

Thanks, Shem. It does sound interesting, and I have to confess I don't know much about the Hindu religion so it sounds informative as well as a good story.

Gem - I've been thinking I need to push my reading tastes a bit - I tend to avoid psychological thrillers etc, but this might be a good one to start with. Yes, I'd give it a go, but someone would have to protect me from the things that go bump in the night!

I finished it in bed last night Daisy and it didn't help with a restful night sleep

Really good though. I will write some notes so I can add them to the discussion when others have read it.
                    Anyone else?

Qwerty - I've had a look at this and it does look interesting. A book that starts with a Christening party with an uninvited guest bringing gin has to be interesting!!!

                              Any more suggestions, ladies?
