Yes. Lovely suggestion Enfys. I think I may have read it before, but happy to read it again.
Let's set this as our last read of the year as Daisy suggests. If you have time, do join us. We will set a discussion date to suit us all.

Ah! I see it's by Rosamunde Pilcher. I haven't read any of her books for years but always enjoyed them, especially the Shellseekers and September.

Aargh....I woke up in the early hours realising what I had done! Sorry, got the wrong author, thanks for the correction 😊

Enfys - no worries. Theya re both lovely authors and it's a great suggestion for a seasonal read.

I have just listened to an item on Woman's Hour on R4 about a book called "The Many Lives of Zillah Smith: An English Romany", by Netta Cartwright

I thought it sounded really interesting and wonder if you all would like to add it to our 2017 list.

That does sound a good choice .Daisy.
It doesn't appear to be available on Kindle, but I'm sure we can reserve a copy from libraries.

                    Book choices for 2017

These are the 4 books we have chosen so far.
I think we could read more than 4 in a year, so feel free to suggest more!
I don't mind which order we read them in.
I would however prefer The Secret Life Of Bees not to be the first, as I read that not too long ago..
Has anyone any preference which other book we begin with?

                    Here is the list:

"Making it up as I go along" by Marian Keyes
                    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Making-Up-A...y+Marian+Keyes

"A Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd
                    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Secret-Life...+Sue+Monk+Kidd

The Versions of Us, by Laura Barnett
                    https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb...+Laura+Barnett

"The Many Lives of Zillah Smith: An English Romany", by Netta Cartwright
                    https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb...tta+Cartwright

I have added the Amazon links, but of course you may find a copy in a charity shop, or borrow from the library, much cheaper

I don't mind either, always keen to read a different book.

Many thanks for the links, Gem.

Looking back over this thread, I see Enfys has already started "A Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd (and of course, may have finished it by now!), so what about starting with that one?
