    Book Club suggestions for 2017

It would be great if we could read 5 or 6 books next year.
A mix of types of books is a good thing, so please don't think any book is not 'worthy' of a book club. We can read anything most of us want to read.
Please suggest anything you would like us to consider. We can then decide and vote if necessary on our final choices.
Get your thinking caps on ladies

Lots of suggestions would be great - plus a few words about the books you nominate to whet our appetites.

I should think most of us have read at least one book by Irish author, Marian Keyes. She's recently published a "Making it up as I go along" - (to quote the Penguin Book website)

Fingers crossed that Marian has a new novel out soon but until then why not laugh your socks off with this hilarious collection of tales, observations and flights of fancy from the funniest woman in print.
            Read more at https://www.penguin.co.uk/books/2869...KExFcLRmRec.99

So I'd like to nominate it for the list.

No, not me. I have enjoyed her interviews though. No idea why I haven't tried one of her books. I will.

Would definately like to read that one, I enjoy her books.

i have just started to read "A Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd and am really enjoying it. A story set in the Deep South of America in the 50/60's, and has also been made into a film. I would happily re- read it and would like to add it to the list as I think others would enjoy it too.

Enfys, I read that book a few weeks ago, and have it on my Kindle. A very good choice for the book club

I read a Marian Keyes a few years ago, and would be happy to read another.

I like the sound of this one, and would like to add it to our list of suggestions.
The Versions of Us, by Laura Barnett
It follows a couple, how they met, and alternative versions, showing how different life can turn out, depending on what choices we make and events happen to us.

You can read it now and read it again if you like Plant! We will begin our reads in the new year. I read all the time and am a fast reader, so could do a bookclub read any time. I know not everyone has the time to read however, or are slower readers, and Christmas is looming (despite what Daisy thinks )

One of my favourite books is "Winter Solstice" by Maeve Binchy. A lovely book to,read especially at Christmas.

I love Maeve Binchy books, but haven't read 'Winter Solstice'. What about starting on this one now? I know it's a bit earlier than we'd planned, but if any of us do have time to relax with a book over Christmas it would be an enjoyable read.

                              thanks for the suggestion, Enfys.
