    Rare books

Daisy telling us about her Coronation pop up book is the inspiration for this thread.

You may remember I mentioned on another thread that I have an out of print children's book from the 70's which I have seen a copy of for £80 on Amazon.

I also have a rare Alice in Wonderland pop up book from my childhood. I found it at mum's when we were getting her house ready for sale. As a child I loved it!

I have found one for sale in the UK for £450 and two in the states for more than that. There was only one printing apparently so it's a first edition.
I am happy to sell it to make some money but haven't done anything about it yet as I want to make sure I get the best price I can.

    I will attach photos later.

Rather than take photos, here is the link to the one for sale. Mine is the same.

I have a few first edition comic strips, one dated 1935, I keep meaning to go to a special shop in Rotterdam with them to get them priced. In fact, I will go with them.

Hope you both get good prices if you decide to sell.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Gem, I can see why you loved that book as a child. It's lovely!

I haven't got my Coronation books now, but I've got a large hard-back book called The Story of Jesus, which has several pop up pictures, but having a quick look online it's worth about £20. We've also got 6 volumes of British Wild Flowers in their Natural Haunts. I think they were published in 1919 and they have beautiful coloured plates of flowers in various habitats. They belonged to OH's father. The prices of this set seems to vary from £8 to just over £100!
