Gem - good choices and nice to have a modern classic for a change. I haven't read either, but seem to be stuck in a bit of a rut with reading at the moment.

I appear to have read 13 books in my personal one a month classics challenge. I don't want to leave it at 13, so Great Expectations is my next read! I will start this after reading a couple of none classic reads, then that will be my challenge finished

Gem - you've done so well. Great Expectations is a good read (I'm sure you must have read it previously) so a nice one to end on.

I don't think I'll have read it Daisy. I have seen film and TV serialised versions but not read the book.
I'm looking forward to it 😊

I first read it for O Level Eng Lit, but have read it again since. I always visualise it as the David Lean film version.

I remember the TV version with Francesca Annis.

I have completed my personal classics challenge.
I aimed for one unread classic a month during the year, and I have read fourteen.

Mostly I enjoyed this. I read many classics I had meant to read for years . There were couple I really didn't enjoy, but I was glad to be able to say that I had read them, so have an opinion!

                I gave up on Middlemarch!
As I enjoy Dickens and there are many I haven't read, I plan to read several more next year.

                This is my list.
                (my marks out of 5)

                1. REBECCA - by Daphne Du Maurier (5)
