This is the first book I've ever read by Santa Montefiore and I wasn't sure what to expect.
What I got was a book that absorbed me completely. I really wanted to unravel they mystery left by Arethusa, which was only revealed gradually through her daughter's reading of her diaries and her visit to Ireland to find her mother's past. The daughter, Faye, was not without her secrets and dilemmas to resolve, and right up to the end I wasn't sure what path she'd take.
It was an easy read, but nonetheless absorbing, with a real flavour of the Emerald Isle and its people.
