    This is Going to Hurt.

This is Going to Hurt by Adam Kay. A friend loaned me this book recently. Today I have spent sitting by the fire and reading.
It is about the authors time as an NHS doctor. The reviews say ‘laugh out loud funny and heart breakingly sad’ and that just about sums it up for me. I should warn you that there are a good few swear words (mainly ‘f’), and if you can ignore them it’s a good read.

Grauntie - It's on my reading list, because everyone seems to have enjoyed it. The author was on the radio recently. I didn't hear the whole programme but it seems the book is unvarnished truth, so I'm not surprised at a few bad words.

What a lovely way to spend a miserable afternoon, by the fire with a book!

It isn't often a book makes me laugh out loud, but I'm reading Me Too by JoJo Moyles at the moment, and something made me burst out in uncontrolled giggles - in the hospital waiting room! I did get a few funny looks.

I'm not really a book reader, that one does sound interesting.
I did read a book last year that held my attention. It was written by a midwife, recalling her experiences.
      That was sad sometimes.
Searched the internet, but can't remember what it was called.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Daisy, I have Still Me by Jojo Moyles waiting for me on my kindle. Don’t think I can swing another do-nothing day just yet though.
Nanto, It wasn’t the original book to the Call the Midwife series by Jennifer Worth was it?
Clover, glad you enjoyed it too. I must say I learned a phrase or two that might come in handy! 😆

I read this on my Kindle a while ago. Definitely recommended.

Grauntie - I've got Still Me waiting on my Kindle, too. I've only just read Me Before You, and intend to read the three together.

I just keep thinking about the yellow and black stripy tights!
