    Theatre day

Tomorrow morning booking opens for our extremely popular and well supported local pantomine. If you want good seats anywhere close to Christmas, you need to book now. If you don't mind going later in January, you could leave it until nearer the time.
The theatre is actually setting up a room for early queuers from 6pm tonight! They are given a numbered ticket for the queue tomorrow. But... they can't go home, oh no they stay the night in this room. This is a new departure this year. At 8 am they can get into the line in the number order and more sensible people who go tomorrow can join the end of that queue. The box office opens at 9am. Online booking opens at 3pm, phone bookings the following day.
For many years in the past when 7 of us went on Boxing Day I was in that queue. Once for 4 hours.
Nowadays I am unwilling to wait so long , and as we tend to go on the 21st or 22nd December now , I can usually get good seats and avoid too long a wait.
So, I shall be joining the (hopefully much shorter) queue around midday or later. Wish me luck!

Today I had a text from DD3, saying that as we are at the theatre tomorrow night did I want to meet for something to eat first? Good idea, I said but we are going on Saturday night aren't we? No, came the reply, it's tomorrow. I checked back on our texts and yes it was tomorrow!! As DD booked them I wasn't sure. No idea where I got Saturday from

So, I will return, a few hours later, to the same theatre. DD3 and I are going to see Brighton Rock. I wish it was Saturday rather than tomorrow, as the snow may have gone by then!!

Crikey Gem, it must be a very good pantomime! Enjoy Brighton Rock.

I just heard a report on local radio. There are 100 people there already despite the weather!
It is our dame/writer/directors 40th pantomine here, so it is one no one will want to miss.
Due to the snow OH won't of course be playing golf, and will drive me into town and wait somewhere while I queue for tickets.

            My planning worked well
OH drove and dropped me right outside the theatre and parked and waited around the corner. I was there just after 1.30, there were only a handful of people in front of me and in no time I had the tickets I wanted for Friday December 21st!
My plan to avoid the morning crush and long waits, but getting ahead of the 3pm online bookings worked. I am happy, though poorer!

Gem - well done - it was a good strategy and perfect timing. I hope you and DD3 enjoyed the show tonight.
