    Is anyone watching this?
We are of course, due to OH's interest in a boating holiday!

Please tell me if I am strange or not but I can honestly say I have never found any joy in going on holiday on a barge it just seems far too confined to me and would expect it to be quite miserable and boring but that is just my opinion.

Glamma, I share your fears, but may be going on such a (short) holiday, just to give it a try!

On this programme though they are in France, having a lovely time, and the scenery is beautiful.

I don’t do boats much as I don’t like to be in deep water, I watched Shetland last night love that series there was a bit in it where he was sat right on the edge of somewhere having a drink and the sea was rolling in and crashing and it looked mighty deep I thought I was going to be sick 🤮

I haven't watched it. Not too fussy over any of those that are on the barge.

I enjoyed Shetland and I loved the bit where they were sitting with the waves. Frightened of swimming in the sea but love to be near it but not in it or on it. Could never do a cruise, don't like the channel crossing.

The main character Plant the detective is quite delightful , the canvas bit you mentioned is the one I meant with that deep sea made me cringe though that’s what I call ocean , not sure I would want to live there but I digress

I think a narrow boat holiday in France would be lovely - in the summer. The slow pace of life on the boat, plus the French tendency to find any excuse to stop what you're doing for a leisurely drink or meal really appeals to me. It's also nice to get off the beaten track. We've vaguely thought about taking the caravan to France this year, and Eva, but I'm a bit worried about what happens if things go wrong. Towing on the wrong side of the road in heavy traffic sounds a bit scary, although I've driven in France lots of times, and having to do a pet passport for Eva with all the rules and regulations also seems a bit scary, (nobody seems to have a definitive list of what is needed!)

I haven't seen the Shetland programme - but it sounds interesting.
