I know most of you ladies lead busy lives and don’t have time in the day to watch television but I was wondering if anyone is watching these games,if only the review programme in the evening. I have been dipping in and out and enjoyed what I’ve seen especially the snow boarding and a short snatch of ice skating .

I love the Winter sports...including Ski Sunday. My favourite has to be where snowboarders race each other down a slope full of jumps etc. I used to like the skiing events most but find the snowboarding a bit more alive. The ice rink racing is so exciting. Our poor girl went flying off the course again. The same happened last Olympics. They train so hard, only for their medal hopes to be gone in the blink of an eye. I'm definitely a fan of the Winter Olympics."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

I wouldn't go out of my way to watch, but I caught a bit of the ice dancing yesterday. It was pairs, and they were spectacular. On our thread Today in History, Gem mentioned Torville and Dean's epic Bolero routine, and I've put the video of it up. As I watch it I couldn't believe the way the sport has developed - it's so much fast, slicker and more athletic now. My heart's in my mouth when I watch some of the throws and spins.
I've also seen a bit of the half pipe snowboarding - another heart-stopping event. Given the awful weather, they must be taking their lives in their hands - a gust of wind could kill them.
