    Dancing On Ice

I am so happy that this show is coming back to our screens!
I am fairly indifferent to Strictly, but have always loved Dancing On Ice. OH and I went to the live tour twice over the years it was on.

I have never really watched enough of dancing on ice to have an opinion on it. Maybe this time round I should give it a try

To me it is more skillful and more beautiful than Strictly, it's quite like ballet. They are putting themselves at some personal risk of injury by taking part too!

Gem - I've never watched it - I know I would be constantly on edge in case anyone got injured - it would spoil any enjoyment for me. But when we lived near Brighton we always used to go to the ice shows there and enjoyed those. As you say, it is a very beautiful form of expression.

I love ice skating well not me personally it takes me all my time to stand up on ice, but I do cringe the whole way through that an accident might happen, is Phillip Schofield presenting it I can’t stand him unfortunately well it’s more his voice really

Do you know when it’s coming back Gem? I could google 👀

Love watching it, I think they’re very brave if they’ve never skated before. Used to love ice skating when I was younger. Going round and round listening to Elvis on a Saturday night is an enduring memory for me. We used to wear thick tights we got from the local theatrical shop and very short skirts with frilly knickers. Sometimes we’d stitch little bells on the skirts, but they stopped us doing that because they’d fall off and people would catch their skates on them! It’s all coming back to me 😀

I’m with you Daisy.I’d be afraid there could be an accident. My DD loves it though so I ought to give it a go so we can chat about it as she doesn’t like Strictly!

Enfys - when I was a child I would have loved to learn to ice skate. Our nearest rink was Manchester - about 50 miles away, and it might as well have been on the moon for all the chance I had to go there!

I used to love strictly but am fed up with it now. I loved dancing on ice as well, I used to have lessons at Richmond Ice Rink which is sadly no longe there but has been replaced with very expensive flats. I did want to be an ice dancer but I was never going to be good enough. At least in those days I could stay upright, skate fast and do some impressive turns even if my jumps were like little hops rather than jumps. I think these days if I went on the ice I would break my Bruddy neck.
