"Diana, our mother, her life and legacy"

I loved this programme, shown on ITV this week, and it made me sad all over again for those poor boys, and all they have lost.

They have grown into lovely young men. I dearly hope I live to see William become our king. I think he will be a wonderful one.

I enjoyed it Gem but didn't have as much in as I expected '
Personally I didn't like her I felt she played to the media, and had a sly side to her ,
But there was no denying she was used and no denying she was a excellent mother ,
The boys had a very tough time all in the limelight , no the wonder they kept everything bottled up .

I know there are differing views on Diana here Oma. I loved her (and met her once ) and truly wept buckets when she died.
I always felt that she was nothing more than a child, a naïve 19, fooled by an older man who had a lover all along. I don't like Charles, you can probably tell

We all have our own opinions, but as you say, we all have to agree she loved her boys so much and was a good mother.

She had a horrible childhood with a ghastly Father , should have known to choose a nicer husband , as Oma says she played the media , such a pity

Don't like Charles either Gem, I honestly think the throne should pass him by , I agree She was a child used to produce heirs , but had something about her that wasn't nice , maybe her up bringing or just her true nature came out as she grew older . But that's just my opinion

I think both Diana and Charles were products of very strange childhoods. She was a lamb to the slaughter - a young girl chosen for her 'blameless' life who wouldn't bring embarrassment to the Royal family, and Charles was too weak/insecure to follow his heart and marry Camilla. Which is hardly surprising when his mother and grandmother had suffered the consequences of Edward abdicating to marry a divorced American (Wallis Simpson). Duty was everything. In those circumstances I think they have both done a good job with raising William and Harry, although I thought it was outrageous that they were made to walk behind their mother's coffin.

What has come out of that, I hope, is a more modern monarchy and a new generation of children who are being allowed a more normal childhood. I hope Harry finds happiness in the way that William seems to have.

I recorded it,but haven't got round to watching it yet.
              I did like Diana though.

I watched it and found the two Princes very grounded and felt so sorry for them when they said how much they missed their mother, she was certainly used by the establishment to supply the heirs to the Throne no doubt about that I do personally think her nature after she was married was her default mode brought on when she realized how she was expected to "perform" for the Firm as the RF are known, there is nothing likeable about Charles or even his siblings there is a lot more to this story than we know and I am waiting for someone to slip up and reveal the truth.
