    The Play that Goes Wrong

This play is currently on tour, and we were lucky enough to have tickets to see it last night, at the Mayflower in Southampton.

If you have a chance to go and see it, beware - you will end up aching from laughing. It was one of the most fun pieces of theatre I've seen, and if you've ever belonged to an Am Dram group you will find it even funnier, I'm sure. I'm not usually a great fan of slapstick but this was timed to perfection, and when you thought they'd wrung the very last laugh out of a situation, they continued to pull even more funnies out of the hat. No swear words, nothing naughty (apart from the briefest flash of the heroine's very modest undies for a microsecond), but absolutely hilarious. I don't think I herd a word of the last ten minutes or so because we were all laughing so loudly, but it didn't matter because the 'plot' was visually self-explanatory.

Daisy, friends of our saw this when it came to York a couple of years ago (I wish I had booked to go too) They agreed with your verdict

I have seen this. I agree Daisy. It is the funniest play I have ever seen. Second has to be Peter Pan goes wrong. Side splittingly funny too.

I saw the Peter Pan one on TV Grauntie, I think it may have been you who suggested it.

GM - I'm glad you enjoyed it too! I haven't seen Peter Pan goes wrong, though. I'll have to look out for it.

We saw it a couple of years ago! The whole theatre was rocking with laughter. It should be prescribed on the NHS! Greatest medicine of all.
