    Books

    Do you read a lot?
I do I always have a book on the go ,
I like all kinds of books I'm not a fussy reader ,
If it captures my attention I will read it

I remember one book about 30+ years ago I read by Claire Rayner,
My goodness what a hard book to read ,
It was a very thick book and the first half was torture to read very boring but I wasn't giving up I was determined to read it.
I couldn't understand half of it as it was all Jacob begat this one and that,
Then the second half was really good and I started to understand the first parts role in it ,

Would I read it again ? God no life is too short for that 😁

I have always loved reading , every rarely remember the author or title though, but I do remember plot lines long after I have read them.

Oma, yes, I've always got at least one or two books on the go. I read on Kindle mostly, and I do sometimes give up on a book, especially if it makes me feel unhappy. So I mostly read very lightweight chick lit, or other easy reading. I remember the plot lines and the characters' names, but forget the titles and authors.

At the moment I'm reading "How to Read a Tree", mainly dipping into it to answer questions that pop into my head, like why is that tree like that and the one next to it growing differently. After all, we've got plenty of trees to learn about round here. On my Kindle I've got one I downloaded at Christmas but didn't get to read, so there's lots of snow and ruined plans because of the weather, but it's something I can read for 10 or 15 minutes at bedtime.

Some books do stick in your mind, don't they. You did well to persevere with that difficult Claire Rayner book.

I very raely read a book, but when i do, it has to be a true story.
      Just not in fiction.
I love my magazines and read a bit every day,and always read a couple of pages when i go to bed.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

        I also read a lot.
Mostly on my Kindle nowadays. I read myself to sleep every night, read if I can't sleep during the night, and read for a while when I wake up.
Sometimes I have a fiction and non fiction book on the go at the same time.

I will give up on a book if its not working for me, and like Daisy, no sad ones right now.

I enjoy a great variety of books, but have my favourite authors as we all do I'm sure.

I cannot imagine my life without reading!

I’ma reader too. Auto/ biographies, murder/mysteries, true stories. Not too keen on romances or anything sugary sweet!

Clover, I like auto/biographies if there's plenty of dialogue. I tend to lose concentration reading long descriptive passages.

Yesterday I took 14 books to Morrisons,
They have a charity bookshelf ,
Anyone choosing a book only has to put a donation in the box ,

One sad thing though was the charity box was screwed to the bookshelf,
Sad when a charity box directly behind the tills has to be secured isn't it .

Avid reader of all sorts here. Has anyone read ‘A Knock at the Door’ by Rob Parsons?
I would always read a book from beginning to end regardless, but lately I have allowed myself to abandon a book I’m not enjoying.

Grauntie I know what you mean about allowing yourself to abandon a book you’re not enjoying. I’ve begun to do this too. Silly isn’t it to feel guilty,as I sometimes do, for leaving it .Why continue if you’re not liking it, there are plenty of others out there 😀

Grauntie, I read a review about this book on the Waterstones website and thought how interesting it looked. They were an amazing, compassionate couple to invite the stranger into their home. Definitely a feel-good true story.

I gree about leaving a book you're not enjoying. There are plenty of books out there you will enjoy.

I use Audible books but only in bed and usually fall asleep.

Plant I listen to CD audiobooks ( from the library) when I am driving.

I fall asleep reading my Kindle most nights!

Gem, I read on my Kindle in bed. I try and put it down before I fall asleep, but don't always manage it.
