    Abba Voyage

Have any of you been to Abba Voyage?

OH has aways wanted to see this, and she decided to spend her 70th birthday money from friends on tickets for us.
It was booked earlier this year and we are going in November.

Now we have to sort out trains and somewhere to stay!
The friends who are coming tonight have been, so we will ask them where they stayed.

Just wondered if anyone here had any advice?

Gem, I remember my DS1 and DIL going to see it a couple of years ago, at the O2, I think. They were close enough not to need to stay overnight though, so I'm not much help with that. However, they, and the friends who went with them, absolutely loved it. It definitely wasn't DS1's type of music, but even he thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yes, we went earlier this year. We live near enough to drive without having to stay overnight. Our seats were upgraded because a person was brought in on a stretcher arrangement by a ‘last wish’ charity directly in front of us. We were still able to see but the staff insisted!
I am NOT an ABBA fan but OH and a friend are. They thought it was wonderful. Certainly the laser lighting was amazing.
If you are a fan you will love it.

We have two sets of friends who have seen it and loved it.

SIL and DD2 were to go for SILs 5oth but GD was in no state to be left at that point, so they missed out
I hope they do get to go at some point.

Well I have booked our train journeys there and back.
                That's the easy part.

Totally bogged down by where to stay, which is not too difficult to get to from Kings Cross! We usually stay at the Premier Inn on the Euston Road, that we walk to from Kings Cross station. That's not an easy journey to the Arena so I think we need to be closer to that.

It's giving me a headache so I am leaving it for now!!!!!

I’m in London the previous week and just thought we might have met up if we’d been there at the same time!

                            ABBA!

Our Abba Voyage trip is over and done with now.
                            We enjoyed it very much.
I didn't expect to dislike it, as I like Abba and all reports had been good. Neither was it something I would have thought to go to, expensive and involving a treck to East London. OH had wanted to see it very much though and was using her 70th birthday money to pay for the tickets.

The show was amazing. You know they are not there, but you cannot believe they are not! Its so well done - the lighting, effects and everything. The only negative is it's not long enough! Just over 90 minutes with no interval. We would have liked more

We had brilliant seats with a good view and didn't feel hemmed in or at risk at all. The audience were made up of a wide age range. A lot in our age group and older, and younger people of all ages. Many had decided to dress up in sequins and Abba style outfits. I did have my black trousers with black sequins along the seams, and some glitter in my jumper

We both found it very annoying that lots of people felt the need to go back and forth to the bar for drinks etc. Surely almost everyone can sit for less than two hours without refuelling??!! We noticed that there were few in our age group amongst the back and forth ones, it was the younger ones.

The venue is great, staff lovely, well worth seeing especially if you live closer to London than we do.

Our train and tube travel was trouble free (apart from the cold Kings Cross to York train) My muscle memory of living in London and late revisiting my in laws over the years seemed to kick in and it's amazing how quickly you get used to navigating the underground system again.

                            ABBA!

Gem, I'm glad you enjoyed your ABBA Voyage. My DIL said the same thing - you know they aren't real, but you feel that they really are there! I'm sure the atmosphere was great as well. It always surprises me when people dress in the theme of the show.

Some years ago we went to see The Rocky Horror Show with Nicholas Parsons narrating, and a lot of the audience were dressed in costume. I felt quite left out! It was a pity about the cold train, but you must have been relieved that your train journeys were otherwise good.
