With Gem talking about pantos it reminded me to tell you about DD. She belongs to her village amateur dramatic society. Last Christmas she wrote and directed their pantomime “Snow Queen.” It was a big success with eight performances, mostly sold out. so not too bad for a smallish village.

Clover, what a talented lady your DD is. To both write and direct any production sounds really hard, but a panto must be even harder - all the traditions the audience expects, but also trying to make it topical, local and funny all at the same time is a tall order. Did you get a recording of it?

Thank you ladies. It did consume most of her free time for 4 months plus. She also made most of the props, something she enjoys. She has written several plays which she submits to an agency for other groups to perform and that helps her bank balance! Last year she had a short play performed at the Edinburgh festival and yes I am proud of her!

Clover, she really is a talented lady, and I imagine getting a play staged at the Edinburgh Festival is highly competitive. It must be really difficult to get plays taken up by theatre groups so all credit to her. xx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
