I recorded This Morning yesterday as I knew the Blue Peter time capsule from 41 years ago was being opened. I remember it being being buried, watching when my older DDs were small.
How very disappointing! It was filled with a rusty sludge which smelled very bad. The metal of the box had corroded and disintegrated it was decided.
They decided to see what, if anything could be salvaged for us to look at. Later we were shown a couple of very faint crisp or sweet packets.
Why did they not wrap the items in plastic before putting them into the box???
