I realise we are joining the party late with this, as I think the current series is series 4.

We started watching series 1 this week and are now several episodes in and enjoying it.

One of the episodes featured that terrible smog of 1952. OH was unaware of this. I knew about ti due to us having it on Today in History on GransRus this week!

I haven't watched it either, Gem. But how weird that the 1952 smog should be featured. I'm sure other older grannies on here will remember it. There were lots of occasions when the smog brought life to a standstill and how many people suffered from the choking effects of the polluted air. I certainly do. Perhaps it wasn't so bad in the countryside, but I lived in a city full of heavy polluting industries.

My mum is a great royalist, and two years younger than the queen, so she grew up at the same time as the princesses.
I do know a lot about those times from my mum. It's more interesting than I expected Oma, I am hooked!
