    What are you watching?

I think most of us are watching more TV at the moment due to Lockdown and will probably watch more if the weather turns wet.

Tell us anything new you have found to watch on Catch Up, Netlflix etc which we may like to see.

We re-watched Last Tango in Halifax from the beginning and really enjoyed that.

We watched something called Orthodox, I think it was on Neflix. A dramatisation about a young Hasidic Jewish girl who runs away from the strict life as a female Hasidic Jew in New York, to find her mother in Berlin (of all places)
This interested us as when we were in NY the friend that we stayed with took us on tour of all the different areas in her car with commentary, she was very good! The Hasidic area was fascinating, like we were driving through film set of another era. She happens to be Jewish herself, but not Hasidic of course.
The programme was very good, but we thought there would be more episodes. I think there were 4. It said Series 1, so maybe there will be more series. The story certainly potentially has a long way to go.

We have been watching, on Gold, a series about Ricky Tomlinson and Ralph Little touring the north together in a campervan. Lake District, Yorkshire, Northumberland etc. It is very good and they are so funny.

Please share anything you think we may like to watch

I watch some Netflix but on BBC and ITV I enjoy watching The Repair Shop, Escape to the Chateau, Sewing Bee, The pottery show (can't remember its name), Dragons Den. I love Vera, I am watching repeats. Last Tango in Halifax is a real favourite. I have been watching the A Word a really lovely story, the child actor is so good, well worth watching.

Plant - I watched the very first series of The A Word, but missed the second. I'll have to do some catching up. I found myself telling the parents to get a grip in the first few episodes!

OH and I both enjoy The Repair Shop and Escape to the Chateau. I love the Sewing Bee )strange as I can't sew to save my life!) and the Pottery ThrowDown.

Gem - Orthodox sounds interesting. I don't know much about Hasidic Judaism (if that's the right phrase) but I think the girls lead very sheltered lives, don't they.

Like Oma, I don't watch much tv, and it tends to be random because I don't feel like doing anything else. I usually do things online in the evenings, play my keyboard or read. OH is usually glued to the screen all evening.

We like Escape to the Chataeu. We've even watched repeats of repeats.
Hubby likes Repair Shop. He watches anything about antiques and car programmes.
I love my soaps, although thay have been rationed since lockdown.
Gogglebox is one my favourite programmes and they have been showing snippets of Killing Eve, which i really got into.
So, i thought i will watch Killing Eve on catch up, and i just couldn't get into it.
i've recorded 4 films, but there is only one of them hubby is bothered about.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Gem - thank you. That was an interesting article. When I've seen groups of ultra Orthodox Jews out and about they've always seemed rather serious and solemn, but it sounds as though some of their traditional celebrations are quite "lively".

We have been watching the box set of The Royle .
Ricky and Ralph. I agree Oam , really funny and quite touching when Ricky was reduced to tears with his memories of the coal strike and its effects on the mining towns and cities not only up north but throughout the country as a whole.

Last night I finished watching a drama called Deadwater Fall , very good, who knew David Tennant could be so evil

                OH likes the Repair Shop

Struggling with Killing Eve at the moment. I think they should have ended it with the last series.

It was on Channel 4 . I got the title wrong, its Deadwater Fell.

                        Thanks Mimi, I found it.

I have been watching Shakespeare and Hathaway, an afternoon programme on BBC1. I record them and today watched the last one while I had my lunch. Someone on here (Enfys?) told us about it when the first series was on. I really like it, and enjoy all the scenes of Stratford and how most of the characters are given Shakespearean names.

We are watching Normal People, apparently an adaptation of a book which I haven't read.
                          We are quite enjoying it.

Well we are, but we are also thinking why can't they just get on and be happy in an uncomplicated way!!
