    Sit Coms on TV

The recent mention of Yes, Prime Minister and Yes Minister in relation to the sad passing of Derek Fowlds has made me think about current sit coms on TV.

The only one I really make a point of watching is Lee Mack's "Not Going Out".

What am I missing - there must be more that are funny without being full of bad language, crude or just plain daft.

Fawlty Towers was my all time favourite, and there were a lot of good ones in those days.

They don't seem to exist in quite the same way now do they?

Very rare we watch a sit com now.
We used to love Porridge, Only Fools an Horse and Open All Hours, and more.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Loved all the ones mentioned, do not watch sit coms now unless I see a repeat.

Loved all the old ones, Fawlty Towers and Gavin and Stacey my all time favourites. At the moment I cant think of any we watch, they don’t see, the same somehow.

Just remembered...Friday Night Dinner.....we like that.

Nothing tickles my fancy at present. I did like Dinner Ladies, and Benidorm and of course all the oldies. Nobody seems as funny these days. I did enjoy Fleabag though.

I loved a rather more recent one - Outnumbered. But sadly it's finished, and I haven't seen any repeats being shown.

I also loved Keeping up Appearances, Only Fool and Horses, Fawlty Towers, Gavin and Stacey, The Good Life, Dad's Army, Ab Fab, Blackadder, The Brittas Empire, Last of the Summer Wine - and loads more. They just don't write 'em like that these days. But Oma, you've mentioned some I've never heard of, so I'll have to watch out for them if they're on terrestrial tv or Sky (we don't have Amazon, Netflix etc)

                      Daisy, there’s a few there I’d forgotten about...Blackadder especially.

Oh I love Outnumbered and all those Daisy.

The Brittas Empire was in its heyday when I started my job in the creche of a leisure centre, where I worked for 12 years. It amused me greatly. We had no Mr Brittas equivalent but there were some similarities in working in a such a place
Also, the guy who did the maintenance, I forget his character name but his real name is Mike Burns, lived near us, and his kids went to the local school and the playgroup I worked at. so I know him.

Gem - the Brittas Empire was filmed partly at a leisure centre near us, with some of the exterior shots in the town centre.

Was Mike Burns' character Colin Weatherby?
