I spent last evening with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davies, Dean Martin and other crooners. This was a trip to the local theatre as a Christmas present to Sil's mother and myself. We had a meal at the theatre and then enjoyed an amazing show, it was funny, wonderful singing by three males, a brass band backing. Shame about the theatre not being full, especially the front rows. I was pleased to see a lot of the audience standing up to applaud them. They came into the foyer afterwards and I told them how much I enjoyed their performance and they gave me a hug. Not sure DD's Mil enjoyed it, or her meal. I am going there next Sat to see The Mousetrap with my Guiding friends.

Plant - what a wonderful evening, but such a pity your DD's MIL didn't enjoy it so much. I would have loved it! Is the show on tour, or just a local production?
I've never seen the Mousetrap - the one time I tried to go when it was in London it was fully booked.

Well for a start she wasn't happy being in the stalls, my DD ushers at the theatre and she chose those seat so she didn't have far to walk. We moved into some empty seat so that she had a better view. Mil chose half a chicken for her meal, she has a very small appetite it was enormous so she asked for a doggy bag, the young schoolgirl looked a bit bewildered but mil insisted that they must have something to wrap it in. Bless her, the girl came back with a box and a very large carrier bag. I had a lovely small meal and had a lovely evening bumping into friends who also really enjoyed the show. I think they must be touring, they just call it The Crooners but it is also very funny.
I am going there to see The Mousetrap with my Guiding friends, we shall have lunch there. I don't think Mil was very impressed with the limited menu and she commented that she hoped we would have a window seat. I think she was spoilt when her OH was alive, they used to go to London shows quite a lot. I am very friendly with her but I was not very happy with her attitude but I had a lovely time, so did DD, not sure about sil. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
