    Strictly.

It seems a few of us watch this so I thought I would start a thread for comments ,bouquets and brickbats.Anyone who doesn’t like or watch it can then avoid it if they want to .

I don’t recognise many of the younger participants this year but I suppose we’ll get to know them as time goes on.

Last night when they paired up the contestants you could make a fairly good guess as to which ones would go together. Anton always gets a mature lady.I don’t know who the obligatory comic figure will turn out to be.They all seemed delighted with their partners.I think they had an inkling of who they would get.Perhaps the “celebs” had to make a shortlist of preferred partners. After all they had already had a chance to mingle and bond .

As we always say when the final is reached it will almost be C.......s,

I know Clover it’s reminding me of Christmas , I always wonder how all theses people get their Xmas shopping done 🤔, I didn’t hardly know anyone , I watched it because there is b****r all else on that and the X factor I switched between the two and although it’s Simon Cowell s show Robbie Williams and his wife took over , I digress don’t watch either though it was a pleasant change to watch The Proms enjoyed that

I usually like to watch Strictly but DH didn’t fancy it so we found a film to watch instead. I will probably watch on catch up later on. I can’t say I recognise many of the celebs this year. They must be running out of people who want to do it.

Famous for being famous, in popular culture terminology, refers to someone who attains celebrity status for no particular identifiable reason, or who achieves fame through association with a celebrity. The term is a pejorative, suggesting that the individual has no particular talents or abilities.

This is the definition of a celebrity.

Last night we had a choice - there was live music at the pub on the caravan site. For me and OH this would have been our first choice, but definitely not Eva's. Second choice was Strictly. So there we are in the caravan, post dinner glass of wine, relaxing, what could possible stop me from becoming one of those viewers who work out who everybody is, and remembers! Answer - Eva. "Please can I go out" (in doggy language) at 7.25. Quick trip round the camp site, back for 7.35. 'You haven't missed anything' said OH. I knew different though! Eva had a specific reason to go out to that great toilet beyond the caravan door - but hadn't 'performed'. Ten minutes later "Mum, I'm ready to got out NOW". Off we go. This time, right down to the beach, where we ended up chatting to another dog walker with a daft one like Eva. By the time we got back all the introductions had been made!

Asking OH who each one was suggested he hadn't really paid attention! But I did feel a bit smug that I knew who Sugg was (Joe Sugg)!!

I find this stage of the competition a bit tedious though. It's quite amazing how they all get the partner they most wanted in the whole world - except perhaps Anton! Switched over to a bit of the X Factor and then to the Last Night of the Proms. I know it's the same every year, but I do love the traditional conclusion and all the cheering and good spirits. I think Last Night should be up there with all our grand 'showcase' parades, State occasions and things we as a nation do so well.

They did change the end of the Last Night some years ago but pleased that the traditional end has been restored. Wasn't that young lady very talented and love her crazy dress sense

I am giving in and watching Strictly this year! OH likes it so it is often on, and GD loves it and we always have her overnight at some point during the run and we have it on for her. So, this time I am watching it all (or until I lose interest )

I liked that tiny girl who is a reporter, and the little Vlogging lad, and have an affection for Dr Rang, after watching him on CBeebies for so many years!

Not sad at all Glamma! I hate TV snobbery - whatever you want to watch is worth watching

I only recognised 5 of the new contestants. OH disappears upstairs whilst it’s on. I do enjoy it more when we babysit as it’s more fun if you have someone to discuss it with. I do enjoy it once it settles down and the different personalities start to appear. All good escapist fun IMO.
