i had seen this programme advertised and said to OH that I wasn’t really sure whether they should be making a TV programme like this about such a disaster. I just felt uncomfortable about it.
However, I have looked into it a bit more and have found that the BBC have issued a statement with all the details about how and why the programme was made, the involvement of the community and all the help, they have received. There is also a document available to be read with everything from the planning, talks with residents, community involvement etc so I have really changed my mind about this. It is so nice that they have understood that the general public might have reservation about this type of undertaking so it is refreshing to see that they are, hopefully, transparent in their ideas. Over 2 million pounds was raised to cover the cost but all building works are done by volunteers and materials donated. I shall watch with interest.
