I have just looked at the Radio Times and straight away felt very sorry for non-sport watchers. There is not much on apart from Football and Wimbledon and presume this will be so for the duration of the football and tennis. Not a football fan but love the tennis.

Thank goodness for Amazon Prime! A lot of people enjoy football especially the World Cup but can’t say I am one of them. I used to work afternoon shifts for the tennis fans when Wimbledon was on. Tedious if you have sports fanatic family though at least now with all the technology available we can amuse ourselves for a few hours. Thank goodness for my iPad!xx

Plant I always think of you when it's Wimbledon series, as I know you're a fan.Bet you're fed up that Tim Henman's not playing this year?
Oma how can you not like footie when your GS is such a great little player?😉"Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

Enjoyed the start of Wimbledon yesterday. It’s Andy Murray who’s not playing Nana...disappointed lots of his fans but for the best I think. Federer yesterday played well and comes across an a nice man, rummaging in his bag to find a headband for a young fan. It was nice to be in the cool watching them run around in the sun, everyone looked so hot 🌞"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

As England is playing tonight I will be watching but I don't tend to watch the other world cup matches .
I enjoy the tennis but even I get fed up with BBC when they seem to think its OK to show matches on BBC 1 and BBC 2 at the same time especially in the late afternoon / early evening , where is the choice in that stupid planning and don't even get me started on the mindless 'after the match summery ' . This applies to any sport shown on TV . Why do we have to endure the endless opinions of so call sport pundits . When the ref blows for final time why can't the program end there and then not half an hour or even longer. it won't change the score for goodness sake ,Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi, I agree about the so-called experts who talk endlessly and meaninglessly about what they've just watched, and even more so when they spend half an hour talking about what might or might not happen before the match/game!!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. Plant, I have just come home from visiting my mum, she was most unhappy about this! The only sport she likes is snooker .
I too am fed up. OH watched a few matches while we were in Majorca, and now will be glued to football and Wimbledon for the forseeable.
I wish I could be bothered to watch tonights match because it's England, I don't care who wins though so it is meaningless to me.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Pleased for the England team, they had to put up with a lot of nonsense from the opposing team for most of the first half, felt sorry for the Referee. I still don't like football but will be watching Wimbledon later, depending on who is playing. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Like I said in the daily chat. I watched the game last night as I too like to see how England get on. However they kept their cool with Colombia I'll never know. They were shirt pulling, head butting & jumping on their backs til they lost the ball. Lots of time was wasted too by them as they crowded round the ref shouting & screaming. That's not sportsmanship. More red cards & send offs needed in my opinion.
It reinforced why I prefer rugby as it's a very physical game/powerful brute force but the ref is respected & so are the rules. None of this falling down & pretend rolling around. The'd be laughed off the pitch."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."
