    Golf Trophies

Not mine, but my OH's. She got 3 at Friday nights awards ceremony. She was up and down to collect them all.
Apart from the odd few weekend game with a friend each year she didn't take up golf properly until she retired, so I am very proud of her

She has become a very successful golfer in a very short time, well done.

      Congratulations to your OH Gem,

Has she got a prominent place to display them?
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi, they can bring the trophies home but are encouraged to leave them at the club. Last year she won the little silver filigree bowl and I asked her to bring it home as it is so pretty. Just right for keeping Lindor chocs in!
This year she left all 3 there.

Well done Gem's OH ! And wise woman leaving them at the clubhouse where they'll be an inspiration to other newbies......to say nothing of dusting and polishing them if they were at home! Most of my SiL's trophies were relegated to the garage and I have to admit I haven't seen them since they moved house!

I was wondering the same thing. She's done so well.

Gem, did she play hockey at all? I have a friend who did fantastically well when she decided she was too old to chase a moving ball with a stick and switched to a stationary one. She can hit really long distances to get on the green in a couple of shots, and I think it's her years of playing hockey that helped.

Congratulations to your OH Gem. It sounds sort of OK to leave the trophies at the club, but definitely not the Linder choccies. Hee hee!

The golf club where I meet my ex-college friends seem to keep all their trophies in huge glass cabinets on the premises. I feel sorry for the poor soul(s) who keep them gleaming and clean.

Daisy, OH's golf club has all the trophies in glass cabinets like that as well.

In her younger day she played squash and badminton, and until her bone diagnosis when I forbade it, 5 a side football ( some of those ladies can be very rough!)

Gem - she was a busy, active lady! And still is!. My OH used to play hockey and for a while he played in a mixed team, but gave it up as the girls were too rough!

My DD plays hockey for a local team. We went to watch one day and I was glad I wasn't playing nowadays! Much more physical than it ever was when I played for the school. However, she really enjoys it so that's what matters.

I think anyone playing hockey is brave. I had a friend at school who lost her two front teeth to a hockey stick!
