    My hubby and technology

My hubby and technology just don't get along. A couple of months ago,we bought a new recorder for the conservatory.
I set it up, like i do with everything such as tv's, recorders and usually computers.
Last night i went to bed and left hubby watching something that was recorded.
I put the tv on earlier, and it was all to cock, heavens knows what he had done, but it took me a good ½ hour to sort it out.
When we first got a computer years ago, he used it for at least a year, before i even switched the thing on.
We are both self taught with computers, but now sometimes he will say, i must have pressed something wrong, can you sort the computer out.
I suppose i shouldn't complain,he is good sometimes with his hands.
Over the years he has done loads of alterations to the house, knocked walls down, bricked up doors, plumbing and electrics.
He even put in our central heating. He is a perfectionist when it comes to DIY. Just hopeless where technology is concerned.

    Oooo i feel better now.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

At least he has his other talents Nan2! You balance each other out well, with your technical abilities

I get told I'm a jinx with anything like that , I have been told what buttons I can touch on the remote , I don't try anything else as I know I will mess it up . I once had to watch TV for a week in the bedroom as B was in hospital and I mucked up the living room TV , he came home switched it on pressed Exit and it was fixed . that's all I needed to do but I had no idea

If that had been me Oma, i would have played about with the remote to try and sort it.
Sometimes, i do have to consult my friend Google.

Nanto,Does your OH have a long lost brother called John ? If so he is sitting in my lounge right now my hubby is a total nightmare when it comes to computer stuff thats all left to me but I must admit when it comes to the TV I am at a loss I can never get the sequence right on the remote for catch up and BT vision.

Nanto I tried but just made worse of it , we have a huge dish outside that we get hundreds of channels on ( never watch even half) and its very easy to loss stuff ,well for me it is , I hate it why we need so many channels is beyond me anyway as by the time you flick through so many and find something to watch its taken so long you have missed half of it

I agree Oma but I always buy a Radio Times and look to see what I want to watch or what to record. We cannot get all the programmes you can. We do have Sky but that is mainly for the sport.

Nanto - I think your OH and mine are related! He's really good at any DIY task and can sort out most practical problems - until he gets to his computer. There's no way we could share a computer - we would probably find ourselves in the divorce courts in double quick time. He's getting better at searching online, but he hasn't quite got the hang of 'read the flippin' screen' or of learning from experience. He tries something that doesn't work and keeps on trying. I think he believes eventually it will 'learn' to do what he wants - a bit like dog training. We're both pretty rubbish with the tv, but I'm not motivated enough to learn, so he's on his own if that misbehaves!
