    E mail houskeeping

Are you good at keeping your inbox tidy? Or do your have hundreds of e mails needing attention?

I have to confess that at this moment I have 4,732 unread emails in my inbox
Of course none of these are 'proper' emails, these are read as soon as I see them. Despite me regularly unsubscribing from various companies, still tons of mails arrive each day! Today I have unsubscribed from several more. I will spend part of today deleting. Every so often I delete until it says No Unread Mails. Then I vow to do this daily. This last a few days, then the build up begins again!

Gasp!! No, I read them when they come in and either keep if I need the information otherwise they get deleted straight away. I have also unsubscribed to lots of sites so now only get the ones I am really interested in. I'd be worried I'd miss an important one if I had too many. I think I have about 9 emails in my inbox, all read, from friends making arrangements to meet or about purchases recently made.

Nope in and out mine go , I unsubscribed to any that send more than two a week , that means most of the damn things , I only keep important ones till I know it's cleared like returns then they go , I never have more than a couple in at any one time . Brian says I should keep certain ones but they in my trash if I need them so not a problem 😊

I usually have a lot of unread but mine are divided into primary, social and promotions. I get rid of promotions and social once a week after quickly scanning to make sure there is nothing too interesting to ignore. Primary I scoot through to make sure I am not missing anything and then delete or file, again usually once a week. Occasionally I go into my spam box for a laugh. I like to see how many Nigerians (or whatever) trust me so much they would like to transfer me millions of quid to look after as long as I give them all my banking details. I find it quite interesting that "Russian Beauties" are waiting for my call and even more interesting the number of emails promising me a bigger p*nis.

My work email was always very secure but lately a lot of us have been receiving spurious emails. Some of them are so realistic that I have actually phoned the bank to double check although they ALWAYS say they would never send an email except through the account secure service. Interestingly I have also had a lot of HMRC and BT "we owe you a refund" emails. As I am not with BT that is a definite give away and I am on PAYE so I would expect any refunds to be advised by snail mail or by my payroll department. Also interesting to note that when the kitchen company that I love to hate, Wren, send me an email it goes into the "trash" folder automatically. Clearly my work email account knows kitchen companies better than me!

Like Zizi my emails go into primary, social and promotions (love you, Gmail for keeping them in order). At the moment I have 204 unopened in primary, 10 new in Social and 50+ new in Promotions. I've got one unsent draft (wouldn't send for some reason) and 121 in Spam. Usually I clear spam every day, but for the last 10 days my spam folder has been at the very bottom of my list of priorities.

So this is unusually bad, even for me, and I shall have a sort out very soon.

I currently have 107 emails on my personal phone. For some reason whenever I delete from laptop or iPad they do not delete from phone until I reboot.

Re kitchen: Plant they are reinstalling starting on 12th September. There have been emails and telephone calls flying around all over the place. I found out that as I signed a credit deal with Barclays it is covered by Section 75 which is the same thing as when you buy someone dodgy on a credit card. I didn't realise it applied in those circumstances. Luckily husband said when we were in the kitchen place that as it is completely interest free for a year from installation that we might as well keep the money in our account so I just paid a £3000 cash deposit. Barclays becoming involved appears to have moved things along quite rapidly especially when they accused us of damaging our own floor and I said I would accept no deliveries or further fitting until the floor was sorted. Barclays phoned yesterday to find out the situation so they are on top of it.

regardless of that I am still unhappy at having all the upheaval again. Husband has swapped shifts so he will be here the whole time and I am doing my best to be out for the (at least) three days although it might extend to 4 in which case I will have to be here as husband will not be able to! The kitchen company keep referring to it as "remedial work" how can it be remedial when the only two items in the whole kitchen that are not going to be replaced are the ovens oh and the sink...... Told them they were being insulting and they should call it a reinstallation or I wouldn't speak to them. So reinstallation it is. I know it is petty, it is just the way I feel about it now.....

I check my e-mails quite often throughout the day, as there might be some competition wins amongst them. Some I delete without opening them.
I will unsubscribe from a few on a daily basis.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
