    I phones

Well I have taken the plunge and I am the owner of an iPhone, my number remains the same for the ladies I text or speak to from time to time, I haven't been on here for a couple of days it's taken over my life, but I won't let technology beat me. I have mastered the damn thing I hope installed my what's app , contacts etc and by Jove I love it maybe I don't know what the heck I am doing but ignorance is bliss 📞
Only problem now is teaching OH to use my cast off its like the blind leading the blind not long since as in half an hour ago he shouted from the kitchen where do I switch it on I despair !!!

You'll soon get used to it.... wouldn't be without my iphone now. Just got an old Nokia in Portugal for a Pay as you go Sim, it is really odd going back to a phone like that, I couldn't even remember how to switch it on!

Qwerty - well done. I'm sure you will love it. It's the best phone I've ever had.

By the way - the Tips icon is worth looking at - I've found some very useful info there, for example when you take a photo you particularly like if you click on the heart at the bottom of the screen it will automatically save it into a Favourites folder - ideal for Granny Boasts. Enjoy.

Qwerty you will soon get the hang of it practice makes perfect.
All the mobile phones I have had I discovered that the 'blue tooth ' is on by default and it drains the battery so if you don't plan to use it I would turn it off if I were you

I keep my bluetooth on because I would get in the car and hadn't remembered to switch it on! I just charge it every day, also keep a charger in the car so can charge whilst driving if necessary.

I have ordered a new phone, so I will be like you Qwerty, spending every moment sorting it out!

Qwerty - one of the uses for Bluetooth is getting your phone photos transferred via one of those kiosks onto a flash drive, CD/DVD or for printing, but of course you don't need to have BT on for that until you use it.

I've found my phone charges up very quickly. I usually put it on to charge at night, but if I forget half an hour in the morning usually tops it up.

I've also taken the plunge and bought a new phone

It's one that was given a good write-up in "Which" as being simple to use and geared to "oldies"! The man in the shop was fascinated by my ancient mobile and had to ask me how to do certain things on it.
The new one is not up and running yet as I have to wait for my old phone to somehow be disconnected first. I really don't understand but as we are visiting DD this weekend I'm hoping to be enlightened.
I do know there was no way of transferring my contacts from the dinosaur to the new one, though the shop man did try,so I'll have to manually transfer all my numbers .

Modern technology and I do not get on but I'm not the only one. The customer in front of me was being told how to do something and his eyes glazed over and he just walked away saying it was too complicated for him though the assistant did his best to explain!

Clover - well done. I'm sure you will soon get the hang of your new phone. Are you waiting for your current number to be transferred to your new phone? If you have changed providers it can take a day or two, but much better now than it used to be. If you've got any problems, I bet the GCs will be keen to help.

Yes Daisy that's what it is.I'm staying with the same provider and was told it will probably be tomorrow.
More than likely I'll be asking for help before too long!

Goody - you won't have to wait too long before you're texting and calling everyone.
