I'm a texting queen! I use hardly any of my call minutes, but certainly all my texts. OH finds it odd, she would rather phone, especially if it would go into a second text. My thought is that a text isn't intrusive, as if someone is busy they can deal with it when they can, whereas a call sort of summons you! I can't imagine how I coped before texts

I have an iphone 4s. It was my daughters but when she upgraded and renewed her contract she gave it to me. I had to get it unlocked but that was easy enough. I use giff gaff which costs me just £5 a month. I get 100 minutes call time,250 texts and some internet. And for every minute that someone calls me I get that minute added on to my call time. I always end up at the end of the month with more minutes than I started with. I get all I want and need on this iphone: emails, texts etc and any of the apps that you want.. I must say though that if I didn't have my daughters phone when she upgrades I wouldn't and couldn't afford to pay for an iphone on contract. I am quite happy with our arrangement and would recommend giff gaff to anyone. There are other tariffs you can pay but £5 a month suits me fine. Oh and the camera is very good too. I did break the back of the iphone and it cost just £15 to replace it. Bargain all round....

I've gone through most options - I had Pay as you Go with Orange for years, but my phone then wouldn't even do texts, so when I started caring for DG1 I upgraded my phone. then Orange became O2 so I stayed with them because it's the only network with reception where I live. I've had various makes - I can't even remember them - but they were all frustrating, counter-intuitive and generally drove me mad. In the end I bought an iPhone 5S - just after the iPhone6 came out, so the price was less eyewatering, and like Mamma-mia I'm with Giff Gaff. I can't imagine every changing from Giff Gaff - they are brilliant and totally flexible. You have a monthly contract which you can change at any time - even part-way through one month, and then change it back. Calls to other GG users are free. I pay £10 a month for 200 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB data. There is a great Help forum - if you need it - which is run by other Giff Gaff users so you know you're getting advice from people who have had the same situation. In fact, I've never needed any help, but it's there if I do.

I love my iPhone. Althugh I always prefer to use my desktop, I can use it for emails, GRU, FB and anything else I want. The battery life is pretty good, the screen is nice and clear and everything 'syncs' with my desktop and my iPad.

My phone is a Doro. Very basic indeed but suits me. The only thing I miss is the predictive text. I had an htc sense that took very clear photos but I didn't like the wifi bit. It would ask if I wanted to add my e-mail contacts to my mobile phone contacts. I would say no and then a few days later find they had been added anyway. I ended up with names of people I had contacted once by email years ago, being added to my phone contacts.

I am using an LG phone with a touch screen thats works when it feels like it,I thought it was me not using it properly but DD says its faulty I only changed it about a year ago after using my trusty flip top motorola (flourecent pink) of course for many years,I do seem to have problems with the swipe type type screens to be honest I don't use it often just emergencies really so am on payg as long as I use it once a month the credit stays on the phone for however long it takes to use up I'm with 02 so it suits my needs.

Well I'm still with my trusty old flip-top Motorola! As long as I can text and phone it's okay for me. I'm with Tesco Pay as you go. I feel a bit of a dinosaur compared to you other ladies😢

Clover my trusty Motorola is still in my bedside drawer for emergencies its the best phone I've ever had and I don't mind being a dinosaur one little bit.
