I discovered my hotspot facility has disappeared on my iPad today. S-I-L has discovered it is due to an update and he has the same problem. Has anyone else had this?

IOS 8 I think Daisy.Looking through help sites this seems to be the trouble causer. I don't have cellular on iPad but it was pairing ok with iPhone before. S-I-L is coming on Wednesday, he will have it sussed by then, the hero.😉
I just wondered whether anyone else had this problem, it might be as well to look out for it. 😉Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.

GM - If it's 8.4.1 you've just installed, that was to fix and improve Apple Music, because there were problems with turning on iCloud Music Library.

A Personal Hotspot lets you share the mobile data connection of your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular) when you don’t have access to a Wi-Fi network.
I've never tried to set one up, and don't even know how it would affect my data use on my iPhone! I'm always convinced I'm going to run out of my Data Allowance 2 days into the month!

Thanks for the info Daisy. I'm not going to fiddle about any more. I've restored it twice. Now I give up and await the S I l.
Glam, it's hot pot weather, that's for sure. 😁
Jane, it's a pain in the bum. 😕
When it works it's good. If you are out and about and you are paired with your iPhone you can use the iPad anywhere without a cellular connection. It uses your iPhone's connection. You can buy a dongle thingy but as I understand it, it costs about £100 to set up.Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.
