I too hate change ....... i'm on windows 8.1. I have read it's best to leave it a few month/weeks to let the bugs get reported and ironed out. I shall take advise from DS when
    he returns from holiday.

Hi Qwerty. Coming away from Talk Talk...very slow speeds, supposed to send a new router when they took over form AOL and it has never arrived despite all sorts of communication. Massively hard to understand anyone the other end! LONG time spent on phone waiting to talk to someone, anyone and much else, for example, EXPENSIVE.

Changing supposedly today to Utility Warehouse, where we also pay our Utility Bills. Good pricing, excellent reviews. Several of my friends use it plus my computer chap who swears by it.

You also speak to English speaking people and your calls are answered quickly.

But Talk Talk are holding up the changeover If they don't respond to UW then they cannot achieve a takeover. Typical

        Hope that helps. X

After a bit of a struggle we got our new router up and running. Takes a bit of adjustment because the pages keep flying all over the place every time I touch anything but much, much faster.

Qwerty, wasn't there something recently;y about Broadband suppliers not being able to hold you to a contract?

Installing Windows 10 at the moment. I am at the "just working on it " first stage, it's been " just working on it for 2 hours now.
To be fair I am having issues with BT and my broadband. I have more time without broadband than with broadband so I am considering changing my supplier.

It's early days here, but since changing broadband all seems fine and a lot quicker!

Yes and I found out that if I had of ignored the little windows icon in the bottom right hand screen of my monitor I would have had installed windows 10 at least 7 hours earlier .

The instructions are .... click the Windows icon at the bottom of the screen and a blue box will appear . click on that and it will say 'just working' . It says this should only take a few minutes, you will then see the terms and conditions, click accept and your pc will start to install Windows 10 which should take 1-5 hours. Only I didn't get past the 'just working on it 'stage. After several hours , 7 in fact, I closed the blue box down, typed Windows up date on the start menu ( I was Windows 7, Windows 8 may be different) and it came up with ' Up date Windows 10' .I clicked on it and away it went with no problem at all. It did take about 5 hours to do but as my desktop is about 6-7 years old its what I would have expected. Newer PCs wont take as long I would think. On the whole I am very pleased with it. I have found it easy to use..... so far !

Mimi - well done. I'm glad you found a way round the slow install. I'd be interested to know how you get on with W10 - what is easier and if there are anythings you find frustrating, etc.

I'm pleased this has been brought to the forum. I had a new laptop for my birthday this yr which has Windows 8. To be honest I now avoid using it. The touch screen/type thing doesn't concern me. It's the whole system that I don't like. Grrrr!! It's supposed to be laid out better but I'm just totally confused by it. I could probably change the size of print when I go to my folders etc but I don't know where to find out how. The print is so tiny I can't even read it. Looking forward to hearing how members on here find Windows 10.
