Oma, not just a scammer, but a cheapskate one as well! Only £9.99 to avoid going on a waiting list. What a (useless) bargain!

For those of you with solar panels....I had a call from a company telling me that I needed to have my installation checked because of new fire regulations. She hardly drew breath telling me what needed to be done and her engineers would do this.that and the next thing. I finally managed to ask where she'd got my contact details from, which company had fitted my panels etc and guess what, she couldn't hear me, my reception kept going and next thing is she'd hung up!

Well, I checked all the websites I could find and there are no new regulations anywhere that I can find! It was worrying that she knew when I'd had the panels fitted and where I lived though. You have to be so careful these days don't you?

I normally don't answer unknown/no numbers, but as I'm waiting to hear from the hospital, I did. Any more can go to voicemail!
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Tonight I had yet another one stating my vehicle had parking violations and that I must follow the links to pay the fine immediately or incurs an extra charge on top.
No details no logo , just Dear vehicle owner .🙄

            Oma, yes, exactly that!

WeeGranny, it's a good job you thought to ask where she'd got your details from. The problem with something like solar panels which are so visible would-be scammers can easily get addresses and then names. You certainly do have to be careful.

I don't understand how, in this age of legislation for data protection, organisations are allowed to sell contact lists for marketing purposes, which can easily be bought by scammers.
