    An anti-fraud operation

The Police are aiming to text 70,000 victims of fraud operations today and tomorrow. (24th and 25 November)

They are asking people to act if they receive the message, which is a proactive counter-fraud investigation. They believe there could be 200,000 victims of this particular crime in the UK. The message will ask recipients to go to the Action Fraud website. They say they are aware of the risks of using a text message.

This is the link to the full article:

Detectives are contacting tens of thousands of potential victims after a huge cyber-fraud breakthrough.

I must admit, after I read the article, especially the bit about iSpoof, I begin to wonder if we're living in an Alice in Wonderland world where reality takes a back seat!

    Good lord.

Nasty crime which needs addressing, but this sounds so confusing.
The fraudsters are so clever that it's possible they could copy the method the police plan to use, now it has been made public!
