    Meteorites

In the news - a meteorite over parts of southern England on Sunday night. It's possible there are bits of it scattered near Cheltenham/Stow on the Wold.

It was briefly picked up on our DS1's security camera (they live in Berkshsire). There had been a brief but intense fall of snow and then the meteorite could just be seen between the two houses opposite.

It's thought that the meteorite originated somewhere between Mars and Jupiter. I was wondering if it was the Martians throwing the equivalent of snowballs at us for invading their planet!

The hunt is on for the fireball fragments that probably fell to Earth over England on Sunday night.

Oma - my DS1 was lucky to catch it on the security camera then! It was just a very brief streak in the sky.
