DH has a tablet - not the statin he takes at night but the thing he gets his emails on. It took me ages to persuade him he needed one and finally, a couple of years ago, he got one. Now he is never off the thing! Only when he is hidden behind the Daily Telegraph does he put it down. He sends me emails all the time (yes from the armchair opposite). Every time he reads something interesting he sends it whizzing across the room to me. I must admit I do the same thing to him. The funny thing is that when it does not respond quickly enough he starts to stab it with his more and more impatient finger harder and harder. I have explained that it is a "touch screen" not a "stab it to death" screen. Finally he will look sad and say, "Oh I've lost that page altogether now." I just roll my eyes and make no further comment.

His partner in crime is in my lounge at the minute on our tablet viewing what is going on at an American car restoration garage somewhere in Dallas Texas ?? he is talking to the thing and telling them which part gets fitted next he will then relay the price they get when it is sold and the profit they made,do I sound as though I am interested but I have learned to nod at the
right times so he thinks I am listening,he is caught up on the holiday bug at the moment so no doubt I shall know all the offers on line by lunchtime.Keep Calm,You're Fabulous

The third partner Is playing some sort of game, which he co shares with his daughters, trying to beat them and often moans loudly when losing. He has also sent me three houses to view in France and four in Italy which are completely not what I am looking for....he Is about to write on FB also and here I am rushing around getting ready for little Izzy.....:-)Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. I think I must be very lucky. OH cannot be bothered with the iPad so it's mine all mine. He watches TV and I play 'words with friends' ( online scrabble). I have 2 games going with people from America. Sometimes OH will become interested and join in beside me but not often.Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.

BL and Gam, and all the others Grans with iPad-addicted OHs, you have my sympathy.
Can I have yours in return. My OH had to use a computer for work for years. That was fine - any and all problems were sorted out by their I T department. Now I am his IT department, 24/7. I never signed up for this but because I taught IT many years ago I got the job without even applying for it! He mainly uses it for emails, spreadsheets and Fleabay. But if it doesn't work how he thinks it should he thinks the chief fairy in IT has a magic wand. Nanny Plumb I an not! I've tried to get him to switch to a Mac, without success, so I stumble along trying to support an OS I don't use. It's a good job he's a fantastic OH in other ways."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

I have an HP laptop which to be honest I don't often use except when I need to print something on the "big printer" or save some photos. I have a work laptop which is about to be chucked onto the main road as I have worked on it all day and it has suddenly lost its work internet connection and I have wasted fifteen minutes waiting for our IT department to answer the phone. That is the one I use most during the week of course although I do sneak on here sometimes during the day on my hipad. Then I have my hipad which I am on most nights and of course two phones, ones Samsung for work (neither the hipad or the phone is currently picking up work emails) and one HTC which is personal.
Husband has his work hi-pad which he uses for personal stuff as well as work and his HTC phone which he does not do much with. We do not email each other unless we are apart but sometimes he will share something on FB but if we are in the same room he will show me first. I think if he emailed me when he is sitting next to me I would clout himIf you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Hubby wouldn't know what to do with a tablet. Rosie (granddaughter) tried to learn him, iv'e tried, but he just doesn't take it in.He likes to use the PC.Strange thing is, he learned on the computer before me,(both self taught) now I have to sort things out for him.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

he is comfortable with what he has got N2G - I must admit I didn't think a couple of years ago I would be happy with this little thing but as it say it is what you are comfortable with. Grandchildren are incredulous that I have anything so modern but they know much more about it than I do. I do what I want, I learn things from time to time and if it suits me I will continue using it, if it doesn't I don't. I sound like a petulant teenager don't I? I might not make my bed tomorrow you know.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together
