    Help needed Again Please.

Hi ladies, I picked up my new laptop earlier this week and am now spending this afternoon with DGS5 whilst he loads it up with all my information I have found all my passwords which a feat in itself I have a list of 3 pages to install so we may be a while.
The only problem worrying me is reinstalling my Alexa app do I just install it via Amazon and will it automatically have my details connected to it,the details are the bank details for the monthly subscription to music live which gives me all manner of music not just my local radio stations which are free.
Do you think it is wise to renew the passwords that I have once the information is installed to be on the safe side.
What free security can be installed if I need it,I do have free security via BT included in my package do you think this is enough security or do I need more.?
    Thanks lovely people x

First of all Glamm, if you are with BT for your internet you will automatically have security.,
it is called BT virus protect, it is all within your BT package . It is with conjunction with McAfee . You will need to download it on to your new pc if you haven’t already done so. If in doubt sign into your BT account and it will have listed all your free things you get . Click on McAfee and it will either tell you that you need to install it or it will say you are covered .
Thats all the security you will need, if you are tempted to install any security you see on the internet, installing that also may well slow your computer down as you will have to products trying to do the job of one.

As for Alexa , I’m not sure as I don’t have my laptop synced to her.
I would suggest looking at you Amazon account and seeing if there are any tips there , I wouldn’t think you would need to change your password as Alexa should automatically look for new devices .
If you download the Alexa app on to your laptop and then sign in it should recognise you.
You do have an option to delete old devices, so you could delete your old laptop from it .

    Hope this isn’t too confusing
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi - that all sounds very good advice.

Glamm - I'm no use at all as I don't use Windows. I'm not sure whether Mimi meant you don't need to change your Alexa password, but if it's passwords in general we should all change our passwords every so often and sometimes the requirements for a particular password may change, eg having to include a number or an extra character.

Good luck, Glamm, with your shiny new lappy.

What I meant was not to change your password until Glamm has linked Alexa with her new laptop.
As Daisy said , it’s a good idea to change passwords every now and again.

Thanks so much ladies I have successfully managed to load up all my information and just needed to log into my Alexa App to set it up correctly I did think I had lost her for a while but she came back after a few minutes.
I've spent a couple of hours changing passwords as recommended thank you, this laptop is so much lighter than my previous one how things change after just a few years.

Glamm - I'm so glad it all went smoothly!

It's amazes me how all technical things seem to get lighter, quicker, easier!

Nana I am not the brightest spark in the box when it comes to techy stuff I find if I write it down in MY OWN language I can follow instructions quite well.

Glamm - instructions are always better when you write them yourself.
