Digital Art Work sells for $60 million

    What do you think?

The eventual bill was $69 million, including charges!

It is either the moment before the cryptoart bubble burst, or the first chapter in a new story of art.

You can't even hang it on your wall - it only exists digitally.

Its not Art is it , its all computer generated ,
yes someone has had to input all that data in but its not a great skill like true painting .

My Friend did a Art degree and it was all based on her picking images out and just printing them out , No actual painting involved ,
Now to me that's not worthy of a degree ,

My DD worked hard and used all sorts of Mediums to obtain her Art Degree ,
Painting , drawing , Pastels ,Oils, water colour , Acrylics , she had to learn how to use everything , not just print something off .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma - I think digitally-created art has become quite a 'thing' and there is skill in creating the image from nothing, using the software to its best advantage and creating a pleasing composition, etc but I know what you mean! It sounds as though your friend's Art degree was very much like Domestic Science became when they re-named it Food Technology - "design a pizza" rather than make one you can eat!

Your DD did the lot, and I bet she had to study other artists' work as well.

My DIL2 did a Photography degree - it was quite thorough and trained her in lots of techniques etc, but she finished just as the world was switching to digital photography and a lot of what she learned was redundant - medium format and 35mm cameras, hand developing and hand printing, and most importantly the way the industry was changing.

Perhaps we'll get used to art that only exists digitally.
